Xmas eve

We hung out - played imaginary sword battle with a long box and the cardboard from wrapping paper. Listened to Christmas carols - mainly Seth macfarlane's new Xmas album. Charles and Luke played a rousing game of 'the moores centennial annual industrial commercial car show'. Then we put out a brownie and milk and a note for Santa and read night before Christmas. So. Awesome. Can't wait for morning :)

Luke's Jingle Bells

A friend of ours graciously gave us his son's drum set that he wasn't using anymore. We got some drumsticks yesterday and gave it a whirl. Here is Luke playing his favorite christmas carol. This is audio only - I didn't want to disract him too much with making a video...

Note: His unique method (some refer to it as "minimalist") requires only 1 drum stick - and allows him more freedom to move around and dance while he drums)

Garage Doors and Elevators

Luke loves all things big and mechanical. Train (video coming shortly). Elevators. And Garage doors. Here is a pic of Luke while we were packing up the condo playing garage door. He sat there forever moving the page up and down the side of the box - while making the sound effects for a garage door. He does this sometimes with pieces of paper over his head- covering and uncovering his face to simulate the door opening and closing. He misses the garage door and elevators from the condo - so we play elevator all. the. time. everywhere. Here is a pic of his "at home" elevator. He says good night to it every night before he goes to bed. (there is a fun children's book idea in here somewhere - "Luke and the Magic Elevator"...)

Happy 4th of July!

Luke helped me practice the drums in the morning. And then we went to the concert! What a great orchestra this year. And Uncle Jimmy conducted a few songs. Afterwards - we went back to Gramma Carol's for some eats and playing in the backyard. Then we went to the new place and Angel, Vicki and Venetia came over for some more fun in the backyard. Running and running and running around!

Fathers Day 2014

We had a great Fathers Day! We saw Grandpa Jim in the morning for breakfast and then went to the park after nap. Capped off the day with some ribs and a concert by Luke and Daddy on the drums before bed. Dad also got a special treat - Dave took him to i-fly!

Luke Sings Friday I'm in love

I sing this to Luke every night at bedtime...and the other day I heard him singing it to himself while he was pulling his toys out. So I asked him to sing it to the camera :)

LA and Disneyland!

We visited all of the family out west - so many wonderful people to see! It was so so so great to spend time with everyone...and to see Mickey Mouse! Luke's favorite was seeing Captain Eo on the big screen - it was his first movie experience. We thought he might be scared - but he loved it. He clapped and danced - so much fun. After tripping first thing after we got out of the car - and busting his lip wide open - after a popsicle or two he was good to go! Too bad small world and pirate were closed - but it forced us to "save some fun for next time!!!" From seeing family, to jumping in the ocean twice, to Disneyland, to visiting with Granny and Grandad who came all the way out from AZ - such an awesome time.

Luke dances Ode to Joy

Luke loves Ode to Joy. Here is a snippet of a morning dance session. He figured out that it comes on 3rd on the demo on his casio keyboard. Rinse, wash, repeat - this went on for 20 minutes that morning...
